“Leadership and management style is constantly evolving. You adapt and change or you become irrelevant.”

JOE NUGENT
Passionate About Inspiring Others

Joe Nugent’s 17 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry helped mold him into the entrepreneur, passionate leader and young professional mentor he is today.  Joe launched his official leadership role as the Chair of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals in 2015. Just one year later, the News-Press named him Young Professional of the Year.

“My time volunteering in these young professionals groups really unlocked something inside of me that was dormant for awhile,” Joe said.

Some people are born leaders with natural entrepreneurial talents and Joe realized this calling when he was in high school. He started a landscape company at the age of 14 and grew it to over 10 clients that he kept all through high school, in addition to playing sports and having a part-time job. Joe entered into the corporate world after graduating from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and his entrepreneurial mindset and approach followed.

Joe has worked as a Food and Beverage Director, Regional Sales Director and most currently, the Director of Sales and Marketing for a large hotel in Southwest Florida. His love for teaching others developed while he was the co-head trainer at IHG, the world's largest hotel company by number of rooms. Joe worked with new General Managers and Directors of Sales and helping teach them the SPIN selling process and how to target specific segments in their market.

During his years as a young professional then turned manager, Joe found his leadership style – Consensus Building, which he often shares about in his keynote presentations.  “This is where you get other people’s opinions and thoughts, which gets their buy in, for when you’re offering a solution. It’s the opposite of micromanaging. You have to have a clear vision of where you want to go but people have to have a say in it or they won’t buy in.”

Joe has always believed in learning from others and even his own mistakes. After reading the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, his life changed.  Joe truly understood the entrepreneur journey and process and started to attack it fiercely. This book opened up his mind to what helping others means and Joe realized the legacy he wanted to leave for his two children, Logan and Madison.

In 2015, Joe launched Inspector Gadget Homes, a home watch and home inspection company. He truly lives out his passion for helping others as entrepreneur and leader. As a cumulative result from his experiences and passion, Joe has written a series of lectures and workshops to help educate anyone from college students to seasoned workplace executives. His expertise, personal experience and ongoing research allow his audiences to walk away with applicable, real solutions that help any generation be successful.
